“Perle” (or “Pearl”) is a term used by American weavers for mercerised cotton, usually two ply. Mercerisation adds strength and a lustrous, shiny appearance to the cotton.

If you prefer to follow a magazine project this yarn is frequently featured in Handwoven for all sorts of projects ranging from towels and table linens to cloth for clothing. It is strong with a subtle sheen, behaves well on the loom and is very versatile.
