Staple yarns are made from staple fibres. These are short lengths of fibre that can be measured in cm or inches. With the exception of silk, all natural fibres (such as wool, flax and cotton) are staple fibres.
Staple fibre must be spun to create a staple yarn.
Staple fibres have a dull, flat appearance and are fuzzy or rough to the touch.
