Toika Stainless Steel Reeds – Metric Sizes

Toika stainless steel reeds have been hand made in the traditional way since 1898 using the best possible raw materials. Specially treated yarn is used as a binder to keep the dents in place. The dents are made from SS430 stainless steel which resists corrosion in a normal studio environment.

The total height of the reed is 12.7 cm (5″), the total width of Toika reeds is 3cm (1.18″) longer than the weaving width.

Toika  reeds will  fit many other brands of loom and offer excellent value for money.  Most looms have beater lids that are adjustable to accommodate  extra height and open ends that will accommodate  any extra  length. If your loom doesn’t have these features please ring for advice. We  haven’t found a loom yet that a Toika reed won’t fit! We try and keep the  reed lengths  and dent sizes that are requested frequently by our customers in stock, ready for despatch.

Dent numbers indicates the number of dents per  10 cm.

Standard metric dent sizes  are 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 70, 80, 90 & 100. Other dent sizes can made as a special order.

Standard weaving widths (in cm) are 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 97, 100, 110, 120 & 130. Lengths over 130cm weaving width can be made to order.

Reed sizes that are requested less often  are available to order. When this applies the drop down menu will indicate ‘available on backorder’.  Please contact us to discuss this as well as  non standard reed sizes.
