Toika Loom Studio
|
We have expanded Weaving Yarn HQ to accommodate a range of Toika looms for you to test drive. These include a Liisa ES24 computer controlled loom, a Laila compact countermarch floor loom, and the new Anni 4 shaft workshop loom. We also have the Tiina tapestry loom, Siru rigid heddle and Leena 8 shaft table loom for you to try.

Visits are by appointment, contact us to arrange a date.

Open Weekend 25th & 26th April
By popular demand we are throwing open the doors again here at Weaving Yarn HQ so that visitors to Wonderwool Wales can drop in to visit. We are located on the A470 20 miles north of the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. Attendees from the Midlands and North Wales will likely drive past us on their way to and from the show.
During our Open Weekend visitors will be able to see, handle and buy from our full range of yarns and weaving equipment. There will also be cone-ends to clear, great for smaller projects or adding variety to your stash.

We will be open 9am to 6pm on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of April. Please let us know if you will be coming, and we will make sure that the kettle is on! To help you find us there is a new sign at the bottom of our driveway.

WeavePoint
|
We are delighted to have been appointed as UK agents for WeavePoint, the leading software package for advanced weaving design – an efficient tool for creating, editing and analysing textile patterns and colourways, and building a library of your patterns. It can also directly control a Toika, ARM or Louët computer loom, or serve as an interactive prompt when weaving on a conventional loom.

We're happy to take you through the features of WeavePoint and can provide a demonstration version for you to evaluate before buying. You can also test drive a Toika Liisa here with WeavePoint and see just how creative you can be with a computer loom!

Restocked and Extended Garnhuset Range
|
After a length delay while Garnhuset moved premises, we have now fully restocked their ranges of cotton, cottolin, linen, wool and tow linen. Customers who subscribed to back-in-stock notifications should by now have received emails. We are also adding some new 100% 6/2 Nm wool colours: ingeniously dyed on to shades of grey wool, this yarn is great for weaving upholstery cloth, tapestry, crochet and knitting.

New! Perle Mercerised Cotton 5/2 NeC
|
5/2 cotton is hugely popular with American weavers, quickly weaving up into a thicker cloth suitable for runners and table mats, but also great for scarves, krokbragd, tapestry and more. We have added this Perle 5/2 yarn to complement our Valley Yarns 5/2. There are 49 thoughtfully selected colours and it is priced at £20 for a 200g / 847m cone.

New! Bambu 7 100% Bamboo
|
Bamboo yarn continues to be popular with our customers - the Brassard 8/2 and Brassard 16/2 are direct substitutions for 8/2 NeC and 16/2 NeC cotton and weave into a cloth that is more resistant to odour, bacteria and mildew.
|
|
We have now added "Bambu 7" a 12 ply 100% bamboo yarn which weaves into a soft, cool and smooth cloth suitable for drapey garments, shawls and blankets.
|
|
Put-up is 200g on cone, yielding approximately 847m. We have 18 colours at present, but plan to grow the range in the coming months. If you see a colour you like be sure to subscribe to a back-in-stock notification, which we take account of when ordering.
|

|
|
Special Buy! UKI Mercerised Cotton
|
We have been able to source a small quantity of UKI mercerised cotton in 3/2 NeC, 5/2 NeC and 10/2 NeC counts. Colours complement the Valley Yarns range of the same counts.
|
|
We probably won't be able to source this yarn again, so buy what you need for your project now!
