Brassard Bamboo

Bamboo yarn is made from bamboo fibre using a similar manufacturing process to rayon. Bamboo is a fast growing plant that grows without fertilisers and pesticides and can withstand harsh conditions. Fabric made from it has antimicrobial properties, absorbs and wicks away moisture faster than cotton and resists creasing. It is also biodegradable.
This quality yarn weaves easily and produces cloth with a very silky finish, cool to the touch and with a lovely drape.
The 8/2 227g (8oz) cone yields approximately 1530m (1680yds) and costs £15.50
The 16/2 227g (8oz) cone yields approximately 3078m (3360yds) and costs £16.50

Gist Weaving Kits

We are delighted to be able to bring Gist Yarn's collection of weaving kits to the UK. There are sixteen kits, each containing a pattern and all of the yarn you need complete it. You can change the recommended shades before adding the kit to your basket.
You can see all of our weaving kits here.

Liina Kalalanka and Molla Mills

After many supply delays we are now fully stocked with both Liina Kalalanka and Molla Mills 100% cotton yarns.
These versatile yarns are made using multiples of 3-ply 20 NeC tightly twisted together. The result is a strong, smooth yarn ideal for warping rugs and tapestry, Krokbragd, crochet, knitting, macramé and rope making. Woven with itself the 15- and 18-ply yarns form a soft but tough fabric that can be used for cushions.
Molla Mills is a textile designer and author and is well known for her modern and vibrant crochet patterns. Her bespoke range brings additional shades in 6-, 12- and 18-ply versions.

Coming Soon

Many of you have enquired about TENCEL™ and Valley 5/2 mercerised cotton yarns. These products are supplied on 450g cones which are generally too large for handweavers, and so need to be rewound for sale. We've decided to invest in a winder and add these yarns to our catalogue; look out for an announcement on the news section of our website soon!
